Hello, my name is Riya and I am 10 years old. I created this website so I can sell my stationary and raise money for my local food bank, Dad’s House.I was 8 years old when I started selling pencils to my friends to raise money for charity. I found out about Dad’s House from my local Sainsbury’s.I decided to call my business RISUN and since then, I have taken part in Children’s Business Fairs in Guildford and Farnham to raise more money as well as selling to friends and family. My parents gave me some money for the first stall. Since then, I use 20% of my profits to buy more stock and the remaining 80% goes to buy food for the food bank. I go to Glendower school and all my friends have brought pencils and notebooks from me. Including two mums who have brought notebooks and pencils for their businesses. My favourite part is selling to the public, explaining the good cause I am supporting. I love going shopping at Sainsbury’s, especially when my friends come with me. We usually buy food with a long shelf life such as pasta, sauces, tinned foods, porridge and sometimes some chocolate too! Billy and Luke at Dad’s House are very kind and supportive and let us stock their shelves. So far I have raised over £748.I hope you will support me by buying something from the website. The pencils and notebooks make great gifts for all the family and are a perfect addition to any office. Thank you so much for supporting me! Buy a pencil, help the hungry!!! Riya, Year 5 😊
